Work Management Specialist

Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid)
 Pay Rate: $45.67/hour
 Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized Work Management Specialist to support engineering and project teams in coordinating work order status, aligning resources, and engaging vendors to ensure timely and efficient execution of maintenance and capital activities. This role serves as a vital liaison between engineering, operations, and support functions to drive progress through the IPSEC phases.
The ideal candidate will have strong facilitation skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience working with enterprise systems such as Maximo to track, manage, and optimize workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align TWO status and CWO status with the appropriate IPSEC phase.
  • Assign responsible organizations and person groups to initiation teams for next-step actions.
  • Input estimated resource hours into Maximo for visibility into future demand.
  • Research open and previously closed CWOs in Maximo to identify overlapping scopes and discuss corrective measures with Engineering.
  • Create capital CWOs as requested by EPPM and all O&M CWOs for APTS repairs.
  • Update work order status when decisions are made to transition from O&M to Capital.
  • Facilitate and/or lead meetings to monitor changes and updates throughout the process.
  • Drive follow-up actions on activities and tasks exceeding acceptable timeframes.
  • Coordinate material orders from Engineering and vendor support to ensure project readiness.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency with Maximo and other enterprise systems.
  • Experience coordinating across engineering, operations, and project teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, track progress, and ensure accountability.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
