The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive health services to students in accordance the center's requirements. This role supports the Wellness Department in delivering quality, professional, and cost‑effective medical care while promoting wellness, disease prevention, and student employability. The RN assists with clinical operations, supervises nursing staff, ensures appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities, and maintains accurate medical records.
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care and health services to enrolled students
- Supervise LPN/LVN staff
- Dispense prescribed medications
- Assist with physical examinations for new enrollees
- Order, receive, and maintain medical drugs and supplies
- Assist the Director with monitoring and inventory of medical supplies
- Maintain accurate medical charts and documentation for all students
- Track infirmary patients and ensure follow‑up care is completed
- Monitor special treatments and medication compliance
- Initiate and monitor student weight improvement programs
- Screen and address student health concerns prior to referral
- Support wellness education and disease prevention initiatives
- Ensure accommodations for students with disabilities are implemented
- Maintain compliance with all center policies
- Attend required meetings and mandated staff training
- Promote Career Success Standards and student employability
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (minimum)
- Minimum of one (1) year of related nursing experience or training
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Valid state driver’s license
- Strong communication skills with patients and medical staff
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage medical records accurately
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and professionalism
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting performance standards
- Commitment to compliance, confidentiality, and ethical nursing practice
