Job Description
Our client, a major chemical manufacturer, is currently looking for a contract Coatings Application Associate for their location in Southfield, MI.
This is long-term contract position (eligible for extension or direct hire for the right candidate) offers a starting pay rate of $19/hour (benefits are available).
The Application Associate will be working in a coatings/paint R&D test lab. The lab develops customized paints coatings for their clients in the automotive industry. Each client has specific requirements and the Applications Associate adjusts the method and parameters for the spray equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Schedule: 2nd shift (3: 00 pm - 11: 30 pm) Monday-Friday
The Application Associate will be working in a coatings/paint R&D test lab. The lab develops customized paints coatings for their clients in the automotive industry. Each client has specific requirements and the Applications Associate adjusts the method and parameters for the spray equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare automotive coatings test panels/parts using automated equipment.
- Accurately perform equipment maintenance and coatings tests.
- Develop & Maintain painting process knowledge with automated paint applications equipment.
- Run experimental spray trials as assigned, use scientific methods to log and process data.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent - Required
- Bachelor Degree - Preferred
- 1 year of related experience- Required
- Automotive or Tier 1 paint shop experience - Preferred
- 2 years experience with automated coating application equipment- Preferred
- Experience hand spraying large parts or car bodies - Preferred
- Prior automotive paint experience - Preferred
