Job Description
Our Client is looking for a Test Engineer II familiar with working with heavy-duty vehicles in Oshkosh, WI.
This is a long-term contract opportunity with a $48.55/hour pay rate.
This role requires 20% travel.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Test Engineer to support vehicle and component testing programs, ensuring adherence to engineering procedures, standards, and specifications. You will play a pivotal role in validating new product designs, troubleshooting issues on sustaining products, and working cross-functionally to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
This position involves developing and executing test plans, configuring and maintaining test systems, and contributing to the design and assembly of test fixtures. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise and a hands-on approach to drive product excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test cases to evaluate prototype and current products, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Conduct system testing, collect data, and perform detailed failure analysis.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Assemble and disassemble complex parts, mechanical structures, and test fixtures.
- Operate heavy machinery or drive vehicles as needed for testing purposes.
- Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures and protocols.
- Communicate effectively across teams, providing constructive feedback and technical insights.
- Plan daily activities to prioritize and meet project deadlines.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience:
- 2+ years in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Test Plan creation/execution/automation.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or LabVIEW.
- Experience with system requirements validation adhering to Software Quality Assurance (SQA) standards.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the automotive or heavy-duty vehicle industry.
- Knowledge of CAN communication and J1939 protocols.
- Familiarity with High Voltage (HV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) systems, design, and industry practices.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or certifications in Telehandler and AWP operation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficiency in SQL query language and automation tools/frameworks.
Interview Process
- Initial video interview.
- Potential onsite interview with the hiring manager.
Additional Requirements
- US Citizenship is required for defense-related projects.
- Flexibility for occasional travel, including trips to Tennessee.
