We are partnered with a great team in Mishawaka who has the immediate need for a temporary Logistics Planner to assist them. 

This is a temporary contract role running from August-November.

The Logistics Planner will be responsible for:

• Ensure that all loads are covered in a timely manner
• Ensure that carrier is following company protocols
• Work with procurement and material teams to create optimal cost and service offerings
• Participate in special projects to drive continuous improvement
• Drive execution by communicating with various internal departments
• Develop and manage key carrier metrics
• Dynamically plan loads while engaging with multiple stakeholders
• Proactively resolve urgent customer situations to product delivery
• Act as the decision maker for transportation issues while during “on call” after hours rotation
• Work with carriers to ensure accuracy of freight bills
• Anticipate and proactively communicate delivery issues to internal customers
• Ability to find creative solutions service issues

The successful candidate will need experience with:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field with equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in logistics operations or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of truck transportation, plant logistics and warehouse operations a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Excel, Work and PowerPoint
• SAP experience a plus
