Job Description

We are working with a great team to assist them in brining aboard a new Software Development Engineer to support embedded and application development for vehicle electronic backbones. 

The Software Development Engineer would be responsible for coordinating with internal and outside teams of software engineers for the design, development, implementation, and debugging of vehicle and module software. 
 
The role will require creation and implementation of software development best practices. This position would be responsible for working with internal customers to achieve desired goals as well as outside partners to develop functional solutions.  
 
This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite in Auburn Hills, MI. 
  
Travel expectation: up to 25%
 
The Software Requirements Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Working with a cross functional team of internal and 3rd party resources to institute Software Development Plans and best practices for software coding within AM General
  • Coordinate internal and external teams to develop, implement, and maintain vehicle and module software for multiple projects
  • Ensure software development is following Cybersecurity guidelines and procedures
  • Implement and manage CMMI and CMMC compliant and certified procedures
  • Interact with cross functional AMG team including: Supply Chain, IS&S, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering
  • Interact with outside vendors, partners, and customers

 

Job Requirements

  • Experience working on programs with external software development teamsAbility to obtain security clearance

  • Be able to work solo and as part of a team

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the field

  • Have a related degree in Computer Science or BSEE

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft suite of tools to provide information and updates to upper management

  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense on Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework a plus

  • Experience working in PLM software such as IBM Jazz and requirements software such as CAMEO

  • Experience with CMMI and CMMC a plus

  • Cybersecurity best practice coding knowledge and use of HP Fortify scanner a plus

  • Experience with VX Works for Real Time computing systems

  • Experience coding in C and C++ in a Linux OS

  • Experience developing software development plans (SDP) a plus

  • Experience approving software code developed by others
