Job Summary
Leads and coordinates cross-functional teams across Distribution Operations and Fossil Generation to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Client electric system. Serves as a key liaison between System Operations, Substations, Service Operations, and Engineering, maintaining system security and continuity of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Directs and supports teams in resolving system issues and maintaining safe operations.
- Develops and implements operating orders, restoration plans, and shutdown schedules.
- Leads planning and coordination meetings for complex or overlapping system outages.
- Identifies opportunities to bundle work and optimize resources across departments.
- Partners with Engineering and Scheduling to ensure accuracy of system shutdowns.
- Champions continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
- Advises on operational best practices and contingency planning.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in electric generation, transmission, or distribution operations.
- In-depth knowledge of high-voltage equipment and system operations.
- Experience as a System Operator, Power Dispatcher, or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or electrical trade certification.
- Supervisory experience with unionized electrical workers.
- Six Sigma or NERC certification.
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, Excel).
