Our Client is looking for a Senior Engineer familiar working with heavy-duty vehicles in Oshkosh, WI 


Job Title: Senior Engineer (Electro-Mechanical Power Systems)


Job Type: Full-time, Onsite (Oshkosh, WI or Warren, MI)
Assignment Duration: Long-term, extended in 6-month increments
Compensation: $40 - $47.00 hourly. 
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Travel: No travel required
Hybrid Role: Flexibility for hybrid work once established

 

Overview:


Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join their team in a newly created role due to the increased workload. As a Senior Engineer, you will develop and integrate electromechanical designs for functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle electrical systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge vehicle technology in an environment that values innovation and collaboration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design electro-mechanical power systems, ensuring high voltage electrical safety.
  • Perform engineering analysis, electrical design, and re-design of vehicle systems and subsystems.
  • Provide integration and execution support for vehicle control and embedded systems development.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks in line with industry standards.
  • Estimate available power and vehicle loads with limited information.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers.
  • Assist in prototype, pilot, or production builds, resolving manufacturing issues as needed.
  • Lead or support multiple projects of varying complexity.
  • Regular attendance and adherence to safety protocols are required.


Job Requirements

 

Top 3 Requirements:

  1. Strong understanding and experience with electro-mechanical power systems.
  2. High voltage systems expertise and high voltage electrical safety experience.
  3. Past experience with the design and integration of vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with thermal management system design.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and controls software.
  • Knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 or Vehicle Networking.
  • Automotive or Heavy Equipment Repair or Design experience.
  • Experience in wire harness design.
