Job Description
Our client located in Lubbock, TX, is looking for a Seed Technician to assist the team in their Quality Assurance Lab.
This is a seasonal contract position (possibility of extension or direct hire for the right candidate) with a pay rate of $15/hour (benefits are available).
Overall Responsibility:
Assist in the harvest and processing of cotton seed for the Lubbock Trait Development/BTO site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Harvest cotton from field plots using vacuum equipment and manual methods.
- Support the ginning and processing of seeds.
- Accurately weigh and document seed amounts on designated forms.
- Package seeds for shipment while ensuring correct labeling.
- Maintain strict separation and purity between different seed lines.
- Perform tasks necessary to ensure the highest seed quality.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and seed quality standards.
Worker Schedule: 40 hours per week with variable start times depending on weather, workload, and deadlines. Overtime may be required.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent- Required
- Background in biology, lab experience, or agriculture experience- Strongly Preferred.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Detail-oriented with good numerical skills.
- Responsible, accountable, and able to work independently.
- Enjoys working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Team player with a flexible attitude.
