Job Ad: Quality Lab Technician (Part-Time) – Brooks, OR | $19.00/hr

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Lab Technician to join their Seed Health Lab team in Brooks, OR. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys routine lab work, values accuracy, and thrives in a supportive and collaborative scientific environment.

This is a long-term contract. Possible extension or direct hire.

Position Details:

Start Date: July 21, 2025
End Date: January 1, 2026
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Schedule: 24–30 hours/week (3 days/week Mon–Thurs preferred; Friday optional)
Work Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities:

Conduct standardized quality control testing to detect and quantify bacteria, viruses, and fungi in vegetable seeds.
Apply aseptic techniques and lab hygiene procedures.
Grind vegetable seeds, wash lab dishes, and autoclave materials.
Record and enter test results accurately.
Report deviations and follow all safety and lab protocols.
Support lab improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive safety culture.

Requirements:

High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field, OR 1–2 years of relevant lab experience.
Comfortable with repetitive tasks and able to manage time independently after training.
Ability to stand, sit, and bend for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
