Position Summary:
Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory/Pilot Plant Technician with strong mechanical aptitude to join their research and development team. This role supports the synthesis and processing of chemical catalysts in both lab and pilot plant settings. Candidates must be comfortable working in a hands-on environment with minimal supervision and must adhere to strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate chemical laboratory and pilot plant equipment for processing solid and liquid catalysts (e.g., autoclaves, mixers, heat treaters, extruders, pelletizers).
- Organize and record experimental data using Microsoft Office tools and custom applications.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prepare raw materials, produce samples, and analyze data.
- Identify workplace hazards and consistently follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines.
- Regularly lift up to 40 lbs (20 kg) and wear full personal protective equipment, including powered air-purifying respirators.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with lab or pilot plant equipment.
- Strong knowledge of chemical safety and proper handling procedures.
- Excellent record keeping, verbal communication, and technical writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Lotus Notes experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and handle up to 40 lbs and work in respirator gear as needed.
