Job Description
This long-term contract role (possibility for extension or direct hire for the right candidate) offers a starting pay rate of $43/hour.
Position Summary: Our client is seeking a contract engineer to support the transfer of investment planning activities to the project engineering team, focusing on resolving project backlog. This role includes both onsite (Tues-Wed-Thurs) and remote (Mon-Fri) work arrangements, providing an excellent pathway for evaluating external talent for potential full-time consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engineering design evaluations and oversee projects to meet budget and schedule constraints.
- Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with industry policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze production, malfunction, and maintenance reports to identify and resolve issues.
- Offer technical support throughout the engineering process, following established guidelines and procedures.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any discipline).
- Experience: 3-7 years in one or more of the following sectors:
- Energy and Utilities: Power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, energy storage.
- Oil and Gas: Refining, drilling, exploration.
- Infrastructure: Municipal utility, wastewater treatment, roads, bridges, waterways.
- Industrial: Facilities maintenance, commercial construction with major contractors, or chemical processing in a heavy industrial setting.
- Project Scope: Experience managing projects valued at $500,000+.
- Skillset: Knowledge of project and construction management, with experience in projectized work environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan.
- Project Management Certification: PMP or CAPM.
