Our client, a major chemical manufacturer, has an immediate need for a Project Cost Control/Accounts Payable professional at their Houston, TX, site.

* This long-term contract position (possibility of extension or direct hire for the right candidate) offers a starting pay rate of $30-$35/hour (based on experience & education). *

* Selected candidate will be working onsite in Houston.  *

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday (day shift; start/end times flexible -- start between 6 AM - 9 AM) 

Position Overview

The selected candidate’s primary responsibility will be reviewing and approving invoices and entering them into SAP. They will be providing support for all Project Cost Control Accounting Functions within Project Controls.

Responsibilities will fall under 4 categories:

Project Cost Control SAP

• Generate Purchase Requisitions
• Input Service Entries
• Project Setup in SAP (i.e. Enter WBS Codes)
• Update Project Forecast (i.e. Adjust SAP Codes)
• Run Monthly Project Reporting List (i.e. Download Verification check for Cost Managers)
• Develop Journal Vouchers
• Turnaround Data Entry Assistance (i.e. Enter Work Orders, etc.)

Project Cost Control Procurement

• Troubleshoot Invoices (i.e. Missing Payments)
• Decommit Purchase Orders

Invoicing

• Review and Verify Engineering Contractor Invoices (Rates, Markups, etc.)
• Review and Verify Service Contractor Invoices (Rates, Markups, etc.)
• Review and Verify Construction Contractor Invoices (Rates, Markups, etc.)

Project Closeout

• Contact Vendors to confirm final payments and invoices
• Maintain vendor commitment, invoice, and closeout log

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent- Required
• Associate Degree- Strongly Preferred
• 3+ years of Accounts Payable Experience- Required
• 3+ years of SAP experience- Required
