Job Title: Maintenance Technician Assistant (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
$20–$22/hour (based on experience)
Multiple shifts available after training (4:00 AM–12:30 PM, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM)
About the Role
Our client is seeking mechanically inclined individuals to join a growing team as Maintenance Technician Assistants. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with extensive training (90 days) provided. You'll support preventative maintenance and assist with minor repairs on site equipment. This is a great fit for someone with experience in trades, auto mechanics, or maintenance who enjoys hands-on problem solving.
You’ll train on either the 4:00 AM or 9:00 AM shift, and after the training period, may transition to or rotate across the available shift options.
Key Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct inspections and routine servicing of plant equipment (conveyors, motors, belts, etc.)
Repair Support: Assist with diagnostics and repairs for breakdowns and equipment issues.
Safety Compliance: Follow OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols.
Equipment Monitoring: Participate in DEI (Daily Equipment Inspections) and escalate issues as needed.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with plant maintenance leadership and adjust workflows to meet production needs.
Who We’re Looking For
✅ Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
✅ Background in auto mechanics, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general trades
✅ Experience with tools and machinery (hydraulic/pneumatic systems, motors, conveyors)
✅ Strong attendance and punctuality
✅ Reliable transportation to and from work
✅ Willingness to train, rotate shifts, and work in a facility with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of relevant work experience preferred
Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Must pass a drug screen, background check, and physical
Ability to lift 50+ lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in varying environments
