Our client is seeking a California-licensed Physician to support Care Connections, an innovative telehealth initiative focused on improving healthcare outcomes through Nurse Practitioner-led visits. This is a direct contract 1099 opportunity, ideal for a Family Medicine physician who enjoys flexibility, remote work, and quality-focused practice.
? About the Role
As a Collaborating Physician, you will provide clinical oversight for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) through monthly chart reviews and supervision, conducted entirely via telehealth. You’ll play a key part in ensuring quality, compliance, and patient safety by engaging in strategic review and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete 2 hours of chart review per NP per month (minimum of 8 hours/month total).
Review a minimum of two charts per NP or 10% of encounters, whichever is greater.
Meet state-mandated requirements for collaborative/supervising physicians.
Participate in periodic meetings with assigned NPs to discuss quality of care and documentation.
Be available by phone or electronic communication during NP work hours (Mon–Fri, 40 hours/week).
Follow all protocols outlined in the Collaborative Practice Agreement.
No liability concerns — malpractice insurance is provided for supervision-related activities.
✅ Qualifications
Must hold an active California medical license (MD or DO).
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM scope of practice required).
Telehealth and chart review experience preferred.
Must be eligible to work as an independent 1099 contractor.
