Job Description
We are seeking an Optometrist to join our team in Troy, MI! Are you an Optometrist who is looking for a place to develop professionally? Pay Range: $110.00-130.00/hour
Position Summary:
Diagnoses, manages and treats conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system. Examines eyes and visual system, diagnose problems and impairments, prescribes corrective lenses, and provides treatment. May prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Examine eyes, using observation, instruments, and pharmaceutical agents to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities, such as diabetes, glaucoma or hypertension. Tests may include refractions, retinoscopy, lensometry, slit lamp examination, visual field, pupil, and mobility testing, genloscopy and tear function testing.
2. Prescribes, supplies, fits, and adjusts eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids.
3. Prescribes medications to that eye diseases, removes foreign bodies from the eye, and analyzes test results and develops appropriate treatment plans.
4. Prescribes therapeutic procedures to correct or conserve vision and provide vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation.
5. Educates and counsels patients on contact lens care, visuc1I hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors.
6. May at times provide pre- and post-operative care as requested by Ophthalmologists.
7. Follows established practice policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
8. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
9. Maintain communication with ophthalmology, optical and support staff to optimize quality clinical care and service.
10. As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
11. Preforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
- Degree in Doctor of Optometry from an accredited school
- Minimum of one (1) year working as an Optometrist
- Licensed In good standing in the state of practice
- Valid CPR certificate and Driver's License
- Experienced with sensory motor muscle balance exams, low vision and scleral contact lens needed.
