Material Handler
Location: West Valley City, UT
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (No weekends)
Pay Range: $19–$20 per hour
Assignment Length: 8 weeks with possible extension
Work Type: Onsite, full-time
Position Summary:
The Material Handler supports production and shipping operations by managing the flow of materials through accurate receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment. This role operates material handling equipment safely and efficiently to ensure materials are delivered to the correct locations within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull and stage materials and supplies per production or sales orders to maintain line inventory levels.
- Verify parts, quantities, and documentation for incoming and outgoing materials.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, tuggers, and pallet jacks.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area in accordance with company safety standards and 6S practices.
- Support warehouse and production teams by ensuring materials are readily available for operations.
- Complete required shipping and receiving documentation accurately and promptly.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating forklifts or similar material handling equipment in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least six months of experience in material handling or warehouse operations.
- Ability to become certified to operate forklifts and other warehouse vehicles.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or other technology-based inventory tools.
- Strong multitasking and adaptability skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with shipping documentation or order confirmation processes.
Work Environment:
- Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Work may involve temperature fluctuations, noise, and exposure to dust.
- Routine weekday schedule with limited overtime or weekend work expected.
