Position Title: Manual Plating Operator
Location: Troy, MI
Schedule & Compensation:
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 40+ hours per week
- $20–$25/hour (based on experience)
We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on experience running a manual plating operation. Candidates who have only worked on fully automated lines will not be a fit.
Position Overview:
This role involves operating a manual plating line in a fast-paced, high-mix environment supporting aerospace and defense programs. Many of our jobs are high-value, so attention to detail and consistency are critical.
We specialize in plating on plastics and composites, but we are open to candidates with broader plating experience on metals, alloys, and various substrates—as long as they have strong manual process experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual plating line (rack-based processes)
- Rack and unrack parts with care and consistency
- Run parts through multi-step plating processes
- Follow detailed work instructions and process requirements
- Identify and communicate quality issues or process deviations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- Prior experience operating a manual plating line (required)
- Experience with racking parts (required)
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment
- Physically capable of standing throughout the shift and lifting/moving racks (up to ~50 lbs)
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (ITAR-controlled environment)
Additional Notes:
- High-mix operation with a variety of part types and processes
- No titration or advanced chemistry experience required but is a plus
- Looking for individuals who take pride in their work and can operate with consistency and accountability
