Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 hours per week
About the Opportunity
Our Client is seeking a Machine Operator I to support horticulture crop operations. This is a seasonal position ideal for individuals with hands-on tractor operation experience in agricultural environments, specifically working with watermelon and tomato crops.
This role requires practical knowledge of soil preparation, pesticide application, and general equipment operation within a production setting.
Key Responsibilities
Arrange and prepare machinery at the start of each workday
Test equipment to ensure operational readiness before production
Clean machine parts following each production cycle
Set machine parameters including speed, size, and configuration
Load production materials into designated machine components
Calibrate and recalibrate machines before and after production
Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes
Follow all job specifications to ensure quality standards
Maintain steady availability of production materials
Provide regular updates to supervisors regarding production progress
Review work layouts or blueprints to ensure production accuracy
Qualifications
0–3 years of machine operation experience
Experience operating tractors in horticulture crops, specifically watermelon and tomato
Knowledge of soil preparation and pesticide application
Must have or be able to obtain a Private Applicator Certificate for pesticide application
Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus
Ability to pass required medical testing, including respirator clearance
