Job Ad: Laboratory Support Specialist (Part-Time)
Location: Tarrytown, NY
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Schedule: Part-time, 4 hours per day (flexible within 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM operating hours)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Support Specialist to assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment. This part-time position is ideal for someone with lab experience who thrives in a team-oriented setting and values precision and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, maintain, and distribute laboratory glassware to personnel.
- Keep an accurate chemical inventory and ensure proper disposal of chemical waste.
- Restock solvents, materials, and essential lab supplies (e.g., gloves, pipettes, paper towels).
- Organize and manage fleet test samples and their corresponding results.
- Assist with shipping and receiving of test samples.
- Administer quality documentation and maintain compliance with lab protocols.
- Work collaboratively with scientists, building maintenance, shipping/receiving, and safety teams.
- Participate in safety inspections and monthly safety meetings to uphold a secure work environment.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous lab experience preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to handle and move large containers of oil and related fluids (preferred).
- Attributes: Team-oriented mindset with the ability to interact across diverse functions.
