Layout Designer
Pay Rate: $37.32/hour
Location: Onsite – WI (Local candidates only, no relocation provided)
Duration: Through 3/31/2026, with possibility of extension
Job Summary:
The Layout Designer will support engineering teams by preparing drawing layouts using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. This role will focus on creating and updating components, assemblies, and Bill of Materials (BOM) in line with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update existing drawings based on redlines and engineering direction.
- Create 2D and 3D layouts using CAD systems.
- Ensure accuracy, dimensioning, and conformance with established CAD specifications and standards.
- Generate part numbers and maintain data integrity within ERP systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and team members to support design requirements.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of drafting/design experience.
- Proficiency with Creo CAD and Windchill.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Definition (MBD) for automotive or aerospace.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of drafting/design experience.
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) certification.
- Experience supporting defense or government-related programs.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
