Job Description: Laborer – Landfill Operations
Location: Frederic, MI 49733
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Job Summary
Under direct supervision, the Laborer performs a variety of general manual labor tasks to support landfill operations. This role involves assisting with site maintenance, material handling, and operational support activities to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Perform general manual labor tasks, including:
- Lifting, carrying, and moving materials
- Loading and unloading vehicles and equipment
- Digging, filling, and site preparation activities
- Assist with grounds maintenance:
- Mowing grass
- Trimming vegetation
- Maintaining safe and clean work areas
- Operate basic equipment in a support or assisting capacity
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Complete additional tasks and assignments as directed by supervisors
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Required: High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience: 0–4 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments
- Basic understanding of safety practices
- Dependability and ability to follow instructions
