POSITION SUMMARY Prepares and cooks a variety of grilled foods for patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with hospital dietary standards and food safety regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate grills and other cooking equipment to prepare menu items including burgers, chicken, fish, and vegetables
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistent quality
- Prepare special diet orders as directed by dietary services (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area, equipment, and utensils
- Monitor food temperatures and document in compliance with health department regulations
- Stock and rotate food supplies following FIFO (first in, first out) procedures
- Assist with food preparation, plating, and service during meal periods
- Adhere to all hospital food safety and infection control policies
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- 1-2 years of experience in food service or commercial cooking preferred
- Food Handler's Certificate required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
