Our client, a major utility company, is seeking an Engineer to join their team in Detroit, MI 


This is a long-term contract role with a pay rate of $57.70-$65.00 hourly. Possible extension or direct hire. Benefits available. 


Job Opening: Engineer Principal Specialist – Asset Management

 

Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Engineer Principal Specialist with a strong background in asset management. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and enhancing the lifecycle of physical assets to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This position requires strategic oversight, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to develop and implement asset management processes while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Data Management: Review and update asset specifications within the Maximo asset management system.
  • Standards Development: Create and enforce asset management standards across all client operations to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring issues and lead initiatives to drive operational improvements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with site-based stakeholders to assess and enhance asset usage.
  • Lifecycle Assessment: Analyze asset lifecycles and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements.
  • Technical Advisory: Provide expert guidance and technical support on best practices in asset management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all asset management activities align with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Inter-Departmental Coordination: Work closely with other departments to optimize asset utilization.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on asset conditions, costs, and locations.
  • Cost Management: Develop cost-effective strategies to enhance asset management efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Training and Mentoring: Deliver training on asset management procedures and best practices to promote process adherence.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in engineering with a focus on asset management.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems, particularly Maximo.
  • Strong analytical skills and a focus on process improvement.
  • Excellent communication abilities with a collaborative approach.

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Civil) 

Master Degree is beneficial but not required

Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) Preferred. 

Demonstrated experience in engineering with a focus on asset management.

Familiarity with asset management systems, particularly Maximo.

Strong analytical skills and a focus on process improvement.

Excellent communication abilities with a collaborative approach.
