Electrician
Schedule: Must be available to work any hours between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday–Friday, with weekends as needed
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3–6 months, with potential for contract‑to‑hire based on business needs and performance
Compensation: $38–$44/hour, based on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrician to support the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical systems associated with airport infrastructure, including Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs). This role focuses on inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical and control systems in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.
Success in this role requires strong electrical troubleshooting skills, comfort working around automated equipment, and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
These duties are not all‑inclusive; additional responsibilities may be assigned.
- Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on systems and equipment
- Diagnose issues using meters, test equipment, and other diagnostic tools
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
- Calculate electrical loads and ensure proper installation of wiring and components
- Work with control systems, motor controls, and basic PLC‑related equipment
- Accurately document all work performed in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and complete required training
- Collaborate effectively with technicians and team members in a diverse work environment
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Active C‑10 Electrical Contractor License or Journeyman Electrician license
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic experience
- Knowledge of electrical compliance and safety standards (LOTO, OSHA, etc.)
- Ability to pass airport badging requirements and work in secure areas
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands‑on electrical experience in industrial, commercial, or facilities environments
- Experience with motor controls, automation, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and diagrams
- Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical equipment
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms and basic office software
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Frequent ladder work required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors, including in varying weather conditions
- Good vision, depth perception, color differentiation, and hand‑eye coordination required
Work Environment
This position operates in an airport environment with vehicular traffic, aircraft activity, and heavy equipment. The role involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, noise, vibration, outside weather conditions, and industrial materials. Hearing protection and other PPE will be required in many work areas.
