Salary Range: $55,000 – $100,000 Annually

Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team in Wixom, MI. This role is critical in optimizing the software development lifecycle by bridging the gap between software development and IT operations. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and manage automated systems for software deployment, testing, and infrastructure provisioning.

This position requires expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as proficiency in tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible to ensure application scalability, security, and high availability.

This position is full-time onsite in Wixom, MI. Remote work is not available, and no relocation allowance is provided.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams to implement cost-effective cloud solutions in Azure.
  • Design, build, and maintain AWS and Azure-based networks, virtual machines, and site recovery solutions.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and maintenance using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • Manage and scale production and non-production environments with AWS EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and Azure VMs.
  • Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability using Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, and Insights.
  • Enhance security measures, maintaining compliance and best practices for protecting customer data.
  • Manage and secure network infrastructure using FortiGate firewalls, ensuring VPN connectivity and traffic management.
  • Support developers by refining CI/CD pipelines and improving automation strategies.
  • Perform backup & recovery operations while troubleshooting complex technical issues in Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and refine pipelines/documentation.

Key Qualifications:

  • 4-5+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure role.
  • Expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Cognito, Step Functions, and Athena.
  • Proficiency in Azure Cloud, including Virtual Machines, Site Recovery, and on-prem to Azure migrations.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps Pipelines).
  • Knowledge of FortiGate firewalls for network security, VPN management, and traffic filtering.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Expertise in Monitoring & Logging using Azure Monitor & AWS CloudWatch.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience troubleshooting production environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with developers to streamline workflows.

  • Schedule: Regular business hours, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an IT environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Machine Learning on AWS (SageMaker, AI Services, etc.).
  • Knowledge of AWS Redshift for data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with video streaming protocols (HLS, WebRTC, RTP, MPEG-DASH, Smooth Streaming).
  • Hands-on experience with open-source video software (FFMPEG, x264).
  • Understanding of DLNA/UPnP technologies.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both IT and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement efficient solutions.
