Our client, a major chemical manufacturer, is looking for a contract Material handler- Inspection/Assembly to work onsite at their production facility in Wyandotte, MI.
THIS IS A LONG-TERM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION OR DIRECT HIRE WITH A PAY RATE OF $16.58/HOUR. (BENEFITS AVAILABLE)
My Client is hiring a motivated Material Handler – Inspection/Assembly to support production operations at its Wyandotte, MI location. This role is essential to keeping materials flowing efficiently across the production floor.
Pay Rate: $16.58 per hour
Location: Wyandotte, MI
Schedule: 8-hour rotating shifts (overtime may be required)
Job Summary:
This position ensures materials and finished goods are moved, labeled, and staged correctly for inspection, assembly, and shipping processes. It also involves performing visual inspections and light assembly tasks when needed.
Responsibilities:
Supply inspection lines and assembly presses with materials (containers, pallets, gauges, etc.)
Manage outgoing materials such as finished boxes, pallets, and reject bins
Complete packaging tasks including labeling, sealing, and building pallets
Log completed work and transfer finished goods to staging areas
Perform visual inspection and basic assembly/finishing as a backup
Use measurement tools and enter data into HMI systems
Maintain clean work areas and uphold safety and quality standards
Assist with equipment changeovers and train team members when needed
Qualifications:
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and remain seated for extended periods
Functional English communication skills (spoken and written)
Basic math skills and knowledge of measurement tools
Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
Comfortable using hand tools and operating powered carts
Required PPE: Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, long pants
