Car Wash Installation Technician
Location: Coopersville, MI (West MI Travel Required)
Compensation: $30 - $38 per hour, Based on Experience
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Car Wash Installation Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for the on-site installation, setup, and commissioning of automatic car wash systems across multiple states. Regional travel within West MI is required. Experience with the PDQ product line is a solid bonus. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, electrically competent, and comfortable working independently at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission in-bay and tunnel automatic car wash systems at customer locations.
- Assemble mechanical components, frames, pumps, plumbing, and structural systems
- Perform electrical wiring and system integration according to schematics
- Configure controllers and test wash programs
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues during installation
- Coordinate with customers, contractors, and site owners during installations
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to manufacturer specifications
- Provide basic operational training to site personnel upon completion
Preferred Experience:
- Direct experience installing or servicing PDQ systems
- Experience with other in-bay and tunnel automatic car wash systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude (pumps, motors, hydraulics, plumbing)
- Electrical experience (reading schematics, wiring 120V/240V systems, controls)
- Familiarity with industrial equipment installation
- Ability to work independently and manage job sites
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- 3+ years of mechanical, electrical, or equipment installation experience preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively (multi-day and multi-week projects)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in construction/industrial environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and professional communication
