CNC Programmer - Lead
Job Description
Position Overview
We are hiring a senior-level CNC Programmer/Setup Lead to launch and operate a new CNC department in a high-mix, low-volume aerospace manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a technical leader ready to take full ownership of workflow, programming, and output.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- CAMWorks expertise (or similar CAM platform)
- CNC setup experience on 3-axis and 5-axis mills
- Proficient with Fanuc and Fagor controls
- Skilled in fixture design for short-run tooling and high-volume trimming
- Experience with composite, plastic, and metal machining
- Aerospace or job shop background (AS9100 preferred)
- Bonus: ProShop ERP experience, shuttle-table trimming, leadership potential
Equipment Environment
- (4) Fadal 3-axis machines (tooling board, composite trim)
- (1) DNM 750ii 3-axis (Fanuc controls) – fixture and tool machining, part machining
- (1) DMS Glacier5 5-axis Router (Fagor controls) with shuttle tables
- CAMWorks (2 seats), ProShop ERP (fully implemented)
Primary Responsibilities
- Program and set up all CNC jobs in CAMWorks
- Build and document fixtures for efficiency and repeatability
- Trim composite, plastic, and metal parts in a fast-paced environment
- Optimize throughput, reduce downtime, and maintain quality
- Help structure team and processes as department scales
