Our client has an immediate opening for a Business Continuity Specialist at their Detroit Location.
This is a contract role with the possibility of extension or direct hire. Benefits available. The Pay Rate is $37.00 hourly.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office and two remote.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Continuity Specialist to join our Corporate Emergency Management team within the Legal Department. This role plays a key part in supporting corporate and site-level emergency preparedness through planning, training, and coordination aligned with the Incident Command System (ICS).
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Emergency Plan owners to ensure plans meet corporate standards (EOPs, SERPs, BCPs).
Provide project management support including tracking due dates, deliverables, and escalating issues.
Facilitate ICS training, emergency management overviews, and assist with site preparedness initiatives.
Help plan and execute emergency exercises and drills.
Support administrative tasks related to Everbridge, our emergency notification system.
For designated facilities:
Maintain and staff Life Safety Teams, providing procedural training (evacuation, shelter-in-place, etc.).
Coordinate with Disability Case Management for accuracy in identifying individuals needing evacuation assistance.
Plan and execute site drills, including coordination with the Detroit Fire Department.
Required Skills:
Strong project management capabilities.
Proficiency with Excel or similar tools for data tracking.
Confident public speaking and training delivery.
Solid understanding of emergency planning, Incident Command System (ICS), and fire safety systems.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
Familiarity with the Everbridge emergency notification platform.
