Analyst III (Hybrid – Detroit, MI)
Pay Rate: $39.00/hour
Type: Long-Term Contract (Possible Extension or Direct Hire)

Description:
Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst to support project management and budget control functions within a dynamic, cross-functional environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance by leveraging Maximo and SAP systems to manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and deliver actionable insights that guide decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Financial Support
  • Partner with project managers to develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets
  • Track project costs and ensure alignment with approved financial forecasts
  • Identify variances, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions
Budget Management
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual budget planning and forecasting cycles
  • Reconcile actual expenditures against planned budgets and investigate discrepancies
  • Maintain transparent financial documentation for audit and compliance purposes
System Utilization
  • Use Maximo to manage work orders, asset costs, and budget allocations
  • Use SAP for financial reporting, cost tracking, and procurement support
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across both platforms
Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders
  • Analyze spending trends, risks, and opportunities to optimize financial performance
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives
Compliance and Process Improvement
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and reporting standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements that streamline reporting and increase accuracy
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of financial analysis experience, ideally in a project-based environment
  • Proficiency in Maximo and SAP required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in engineering, construction, or manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles
