Job Description




Our client, a major chemical manufacturer, is looking to for an Administrative Assistant to work with their team in Hunstville, AL 




 




This contract position (possibility of extension) offers a starting pay rate of $25/hour (benefits are available).



 


Position Overview:



We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team. The incumbent will provide essential administrative and clerical support to help meet site objectives and may be assigned additional duties as directed.


 


Principal Responsibilities:





    • Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors, contractors, and external callers after Security personnel.

    • Provide daily administrative support, including managing phone calls, visitor traffic, procurement of goods and services, submitting purchase requisitions, processing invoices, tracking purchase orders, ordering supplies, sorting mail, scheduling meetings, managing conference room schedules, shipping/receiving support, access control, processing work requests, and generating work orders.

    • Assist departmental staff with scheduling third-party services, verifying work order service tickets, and confirming invoice accuracy before approval.

    • Support department meetings and events by reserving and preparing meeting rooms.

    • Work with vendors and other third-party service providers to verify completion of site safety requirements and coordinate appropriate access.

    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

    • Follow site safety rules and promote their observance in performance of job duties.

    • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.


 


 

Job Requirements

Qualifications


  • High School Diploma is Required (College Degree Preferred) 
  • 3-5 years of administrative and/or procurement experience
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to read and interpret company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • SAP, and Tableau or similar analytic tools are Required
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Working knowledge of corporate spending reports
  • Shipping & Receiving and/or mailroom experience
  • Vendor management experience
  • Experience working in a 5S and safety-conscious environmen
