We are working with a great team who has the immediate need for a Telematics Engineer to join them in Oak Park, MI. 

The Telematics Engineer is to be a part of a small team responsible for the design, development, and support of both back and on ECU (Electronic Control Units) telematics software. Including interfacing with supplier software and functions through APIs. The role involves dealing directly with the supplier and working closely with the controls team, service team, and after sales team.

You bring the talent, and we will provide the mentoring, training, and support you need to become an accomplished Telematics Engineer. This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

The responsibilities for this role are listed as:

• Configure telematics software using open-source Linux tools.
• Develop strategy for logging data on cloud server based on vehicle data.
• Develop tools to interface with supplier back-end servers through APIs.
• Work with Controls Engineering and After Sales to get telematics requirements.
• Work with suppliers to implement telematics requirements.
• Work with testing to use telematics capabilities to improve issue root cause or detect vehicles down.

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. MS preferred.
• Linux Development (SDK Configuration preferred), Scripting for API usage, and Server/AWS configurations.
• Automotive or Heavy-Duty Telematics functions and ECU programming.
