Plant Packaging Operator

Our client is looking for Plant Packaging Operators to join their team in Bapchule, AZ. 

This is a long-term contract role with a pay rate of $20 hourly. Possible extension or direct hire with benefits available. 

Job Summary:
We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented individuals to support the daily operations in our cotton seed processing plant and warehouse. This role involves overseeing the seed treatment process, packaging by seed count, operating manual and automated equipment, and maintaining inventory accuracy. This is a hands-on role with a strong emphasis on maintaining precision in seed counts, bag weights, equipment operation, and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily tasks related to seed counting, bagging, and treating operations in the plant.
• Operate automatic seed sampling equipment for accurate sampling.
• Conduct seed counts for packaging and quality assurance samples.
• Enter monitoring data for treating and packaging areas.
• Monitor packaging appearance, including barcoding, printing, and wrapping.
• Ensure accurate application during the seed treatment process.
• Conduct general repairs on bag placers, baggers, treaters, and palletizers as needed.
• Assist with area cleanup, especially during variety changes.
• Support inventory counts, carryover blending, and raw goods inventory.
• Uphold excellent housekeeping practices and follow all OSHA safety rules.

Decision-Making Skills:

• Troubleshoot issues with bagging equipment, bag weights, and print quality on packaging.
• Correct seed count and application issues.
• Calibrate equipment to maintain accuracy or inform management if needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform equipment repairs.
• Effective communication skills and a cooperative approach to teamwork.
• Physically capable of handling 50 lb. bags.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy in all tasks.
