Insurance Verification Specialist

Our client. A medical supply company is looking to add several Insurance Verification Specialist professionals with DME billing experience to their team in Wixom, MI.

* This is a contract-to-hire position with a pay rate of $18-$19/hour based on experience (benefits are available) *

Our client is seeking Insurance Verification Specialists to join their team! In this role, you will be responsible for verifying customers' insurance and managing all aspects of account setup for incontinence, diabetes, insulin pumps, CGMs, urological, ostomy, wound care, blood pressure monitors, and enteral supplies.

Essential Functions:

• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Provide ethical and professional assistance to patients with questions or concerns.
• Verify insurance for all products.
• Process incoming verification tasks, prescriptions, referrals, account restarts, and insurance changes.
• Confirm and update member addresses.
• Communicate with clients, caregivers, and doctors to gather necessary information.
• Collect and store credit card details for co-pays.
• Load insurance into accounts and build skeleton accounts as needed.
• Research insurance guidelines via online resources and provider materials.
• Submit reports to leadership as required.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position. Occasional overtime may be required.

The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Biller position maintains and distributes updated payer information as it becomes available, follows established billing procedures for timely and thorough collection of open invoices, responds to rejection and error reports, and completes work reports as assigned within a designated period of time

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in a Medical Billing role involving patient insurance verification and account setup.
• 2+ years of medical billing and coding experience.
• Demonstrated ability to follow multi-step procedures with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at various stages of completion.
• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education in Medical Billing and Coding.
• Experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is a PLUS.
