Mechanical Engineer

Pay Rate: $46.24/hour
 Location: Oshkosh, WI – Global Technology Center (local candidates preferred)
 Duration: Contract assignment
 Interview Process: Virtual interview via Teams

Job Summary:
 The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, analysis, and development of reliable, cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. This role involves performing calculations, preparing designs, and assisting with the integration of components into existing and new vehicle platforms. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with senior engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with engineering calculations, investigations, and design tasks under supervision.
  • Support senior engineers in preparing plans, designs, and technical reports.
  • Create and update layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Evaluate designs for safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Provide technical support to production and resolve engineering issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure design standards are met.
  • Prepare proposals, reports, and presentations to support projects.
  • Utilize CAD and engineering tools to model and optimize designs.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Internship or 6+ months of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle systems.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as Creo, PTC, or similar.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Office and shop floor environment with routine shift hours.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and computer use.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Some exposure to changing priorities and deadlines.
